Horizontal Pressure Leaf Filter

Describe Of

Horizontal Pressure Leaf Filter

A Horizontal Pressure Leaf Filter (HPLF) is an industrial filtration device used to separate solids from liquids in a variety of processes. Its horizontal orientation distinguishes it from its vertical counterpart, and it offers specific advantages in certain applications, particularly where ease of maintenance and cake discharge are critical.

Leaf Elements: Similar to vertical leaf filters, HPLFs consist of multiple filter leaves, which are framed structures covered with a filter cloth or mesh. These leaves are arranged horizontally and are supported by a central shaft or manifold.

Filter Vessel: The leaves are enclosed in a horizontal cylindrical or rectangular pressure vessel. This vessel is designed to endure high pressures necessary for effective filtration.
